Benefits

Lamb
Lamb is a biologically appropriate meat source for dogs and mirrors their ancestral diets. If your dog is not used to eating lamb, this recipe could also be a super novel protein dog food for your pet. Lamb has a much higher iron content than most other proteins found in dog food, which helps enormously in the synthesis of your pet's blood. It is also rich in zinc, which is essential to support your dog's immune system. Lamb is an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acids, which are anti-inflammatory and help to give your dog healthy skin and a glossy coat. These fatty acids are also superb for heart, joint and cognitive health. Lamb is also a healthy source of B vitamins such as riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), vitamin B12 and B6 - all of which help the nervous system in dogs. We have also included linoleic acid (CLA) in this lamb based dog food, which is known to help with weight loss and to improve muscle function. If you follow our feeding guidelines, this recipe may also be your best adult dog food for weight loss, because it's less than 10% fat making it a high-quality, low-fat dog food.

If you follow our feeding guidelines, this recipe may be your best adult dog food for weight loss too because it's less than 10% fat making it a high quality low-fat dog food.

Rice
We've added rice to complete this grain inclusive dog food recipe because it also considered low fat.  Rice is low in sodium and contains important minerals and vitamins like vitamin D, niacin, iron, calcium and thiamine.  Rice is also great if you want to improve you dog's gut health, as it helps against diarrhea and improves bowel movements.  Rice contributes to making healthy bacteria in you dog's gastrointestinal system making it an all round healthy adult dog food for a variety of digestive issues.

Yucca
We've also included all-natural yucca schidigera plant extract in this dog food. Various studies have shown that yucca reduces bad odour from your dog's smelly poos by up to 26%! It also has other beneficial properties, such as helping your dog to absorb more nutrients from their food, which helps reduce stool sizes.

Omega oils
This is a fish-free dog food recipe. Although it does not contain salmon oil, it does include all the necessary Omega fatty acids required for complete health. It is an excellent choice for those dogs with aversions to anything fish!

Brewers yeast
We have also added brewer's yeast to the recipe. We include brewers yeast in dog food because it naturally controls fleas and ticks. Brewers yeast is also rich in B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, and B9) as well as being full of antioxidants. It contains selenium, potassium, chromium, iron, zinc and magnesium. All these ingredients will benefit your dog's skin, coat, eyes, and liver function, and all have a calming effect on dogs.

Free from potatoes, corn, peas and legumes
This adult dog food has no legumes and is free from potatoes. It's also a dog food without corn and wheat. This recipe makes for a great exclusion diet or those looking for potato, pea and lentil free dog food.

My friends dog loves it

I bought this for my cocker Loki . Normally he has the trout low fat and as it has no chicken is fine for him . He’s allergic to chicken in any form. When I bought this lamb I didn’t realise it had chicken fat in . I dare not give it him . My friend bought it off me and her dog absolutely loves it so it didn’t go to waste .
I reordered his Trout food so it didn’t go to waste and it’s my fault for not checking properly..

Ginger is nutty no more

Ginger is our chocolate lab rescue dog and we adopted her in Dec 2011. She is a high energy working breed and as nutty as a fruitcake but adorable. We noticed early on that she snapped her jaws together on occasions and as time progressed she started biting at imaginary flies and chomping at the air. Over 6 months, it grew worse and it was distressing to watch. We took her to the vet and she suggested that she may have 'petit mal' which like epilepsy, results in fit like seizures. If this was the case then Ginger would likely be required to take barbiturates long term. The vet suggested that we keep a diary of her episodes over the next two weeks and report back. However, after a week it became obvious that her 'fits' were worst after eating. I studied the internet and read as much as I could about 'petit mal'. I read several blogs on different sites where owners had reported vast improvements in the reduction of symptoms simply by changing the diet of their dogs to include no wheat or cereal and as little additives as possible. We were feeding Ginger on a high quality (expensive) kibble and thought we were doing the right thing for her. I googled 'no wheat or cereal dog food' and came across Nutrix Pet Foods. To be sure, I ordered Hypoallergenic Lamb and Rice which has no wheat gluten and is additive free. It was less expensive than the shop bought brand and it was delivered next day. Amazingly, almost immediately and certainly within a couple of days Ginger was practically free from chomping and fly biting episodes. We had some of her old dental clean up sticks which was a great treat for her and we gave her one after the third day and immediately she was chomping again. Lesson learned, I ordered 'Snack Bones' treats from Nutrix, which Ginger loves.
