Benefits

Duck
Surprisingly, duck based dog food does not usually contain as much saturated fat as some other meats, and duck is also easy to digest. Duck meat contains plenty of zinc and selenium. Selenium is an important antioxidant that can help prevent cell damage, it also fights inflammation great for your dogs gastrointestinal tract. Duck meat also contains Omega-3 fatty acids, essential for a lustrous and healthy coat. The recipe also includes B vitamins such as B3 (Niacin) that helps to convert meat into protein and convert fat and carbohydrates into energy. There is also B6 which supports cardiovascular health and metabolism.

Sweet potato
Sweet potato provides a good amount of fibre, to promote a healthy digestive system to form solid stools! As well as being easy to digest sweet potatoes also release their energy slowly, which helps control blood sugar levels. Sweet potato is high in beta-carotene, which is good for your dogs eyes! You can also find vitamin E and also vitamin C, both are excellent for hair and skin health. Vitamin C is also essential for the immune system. These potatoes also contain good amounts of magnesium which helps sleep and anxiety.

Cranberries and oranges
This recipe also contains cranberries and oranges. Cranberries help to prevent plaque build-up on your dogs teeth, because of their flavonoids and polyphenols. They also are good for your dogs balance and coordination and keep their brain actively healthy. Cranberries also contain antioxidants that help to prevent eye diseases. They are also beneficial to cardiovascular health and helping vessels to relax. Cranberries are also good for the kidneys, the bladder and the urinary tract. They will support your dogs microbiome, and their antibacterial properties help stop E. coli from colonizing in the gut. Eating them regularly helps to prevent bacterial infections.

Oranges are full of vitamin C, which has many benefits, from protecting cells, healing wounds, helping to absorb iron, boosting the immune system and fighting free radicals. They also contain good amounts of calcium to keep bones, organs and muscles strong. The citric acid and citrates in oranges also help prevent kidney stones from forming.

MOS and FOS
This duck and sweet potato and orange recipe also contains extra natural prebiotics such as chicory. We call them MOS and FOS for short. They feed the good bacteria Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. They also help to improve your dogs gut microbiome and all-round immunity.

Omega 3 and 6
Flaxseeds (also called linseeds) are rich in Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids that our dogs cant make on their own. Omega 6 is important for immunity and various cell functions. Flaxseeds will also help to soften and shine your dogs coat. Omega 3 is essential to the central nervous tissue, the brain and vision. They are also known to help reduce any joint and skin inflammation. Flaxseeds also make this dog food good for digestion because of their natural fibre content, helping to produce solid stools.

This dry dog food is without grains, it is barley free and has no corn. It is a no wheat dog food, without any rice, and there are no soy or fillers. Nor does it contain any other protein than duck, so it is also a chicken and beef-free dog food. Nor does it contain dairy or eggs. We never add salt to any of our recipes. There are no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or additives. All ingredients are UK sourced human-grade quality ingredients. It is both gluten and lactose-free.

My dog has suffered digestive problems for years. We changed from fish kibble to the duck and she is now pain free and is eager to eat every meal.

Both my dogs absolutely love this food. Their coats are glossy and their eyes are bright. Best of all, it’s great for sensitive tummies. I wholeheartedly recommend Nutrix Duck and Sweet Potato food.
