Duck
This duck and potato working dog food recipe has many of the beneficial nutrients that red meat contains, but with less fat. Duck contains selenium which is known to boost the immune system and is also an important antioxidant. It helps to fight inflammation and can also aid in the prevention of cell damage as well as being beneficial for thyroid health. The omega 3 and 6 fatty acids found in duck meat are essential for normal physiological function. They also support their cell membrane structure and cell function. Omega fatty acids help growth, immune function, and to maintain healthy skin and a shiny coat.

Linseed
Linseed, also known as flaxseed, has healthy levels of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. These work to keep your dogs skin healthy and coat shiny. These acids are also known to boost the immune system and are renowned for their anti-inflammatory properties and helping with other skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis (eczema in humans). Additionally, linseed is helpful to your dogs gastrointestinal health, and the fibre can help with constipation.

Biotin
Biotin is good for the brain and boosts energy levels, helping your dog's mood. It is also renowned for improving nails, skin, hair, liver and nervous system health.

It also works hard at metabolising fats, carbohydrates and protein. This recipe is the perfect choice of low-fat dog food for working dogs with EPI, pancreatic problems, and other sensitivity issues.

Brewers Yeast
Containing natural antioxidants, natural Brewer's Yeast promotes shiny hair, healthy skin, eyes and also supports liver function. Brewer's yeast has vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, folic acid and biotin). These are known to reduce anxiety in dogs. Brewers yeast also contains selenium, chromium, potassium, iron, magnesium and zinc. These all benefit cell and organ functions as well as overall health. And one final trick, it also effective at repelling ticks and fleas.

This recipe is an all-natural, wheat, and grain-free duck dog food that has no chicken, no fish, and is maize-free. There are no preservatives and nothing artificial. It is free from the typical ingredients likely to irritate or cause intolerances.

Wallace's story
Wallace is a rescue dog being cared for by German Shepherd Rescue Scotland. He came into rescue at 10 months old being diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) at 6 months old. I was asked to be his foster carer, I knew before Wallace arrived that I was going to have to do my research and learn about EPI and fast.

I gave him a week to settle in before changing anything but it was veryclear the the food he was eating wasn't the right food. Most EPI dogs need a grain-free food. I searched on the web and found the Nutrix website, their Duck and Potato food sounded perfect so I ordered some up. The results were instant. When changing to a grain-free food EPI dogs can go 'cold turkey', so we went from runny cow-pat poos one day to formed poos the next day. I was delighted, I knew I had the right food for Wallace, now I needed to tweak the other factors and soon I would see him thrive.

Wallace has now been eating the Nutrix Duck and Potato food for a month, he is putting on weight and his coat is beginning to shine. He's such a loving little boy that we have decided to keep him. Wallace now has his forever
home with myself and my family.

Thanks to Maria at Nutrix for producing this very important grain-free food. I have recommended it to other owners with EPI dogs, and they too are thriving on it.

Kara's story
My GSD Kara was diagnosed with EPI Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency in September 2009. We started her on Lypex enzymes antibiotics and vitamin B12 injections but has always had cow pat motions which are consistant with EPI which is not stable. Kara had been given various prescription foods which did nothing for her and this cost a fortune. Then I was recommended Nutrix by another EPI dog owner and within a week her motions had gone from cow pats to almost normal and I have some pictures to show you the difference. Her coat is now fabulous as is my cat's who is also on Nuitrix cat food. Kara has put on weight on your food and now weight 30.6 kilos. Thank you!! We really thought we would lose her before we found you and I mean that.
I would recommend this food to anyone who has the misfortune to have this horrible illness, but it makes it easier when the food is priced reasonably too! The whole range of dog and cat food are also to be recommended if they are as good as the ones I have tried and Maria is brilliant to deal with.

Excellent dog food

Our EPI German Shepherd Dog has been eating nothing but this food (and Lypex) for about 9 years now and she is still in excellent condition and full of energy. She also really likes it and still gets very excited at feeding times. We even use this food as training treats, she likes it so much.
