My GSD Kara was diagnosed with EPI Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency in September 2009. We started her on Lypex enzymes antibiotics and vitamin B12 injections but has always had cow pat motions which are consistant with EPI which is not stable. Kara had been given various prescription foods which did nothing for her and this cost a fortune. Then I was recommended the Nutrix duck and potato recipe by another EPI dog owner and within a week her motions had gone from cow pats to almost normal and I have some pictures to show you the difference. Her coat is now fabulous as is my cat's who is also on Nuitrix cat food. Kara has put on weight on your food and now weight 30.6 kilos. Thank you!! We really thought we would lose her before we found you and I mean that.
I would recommend this food to anyone who has the misfortune to have this horrible illness, but it makes it easier when the food is priced reasonably too! The whole range of dog and cat food are also to be recommended if they are as good as the ones I have tried and Maria is brilliant to deal with.

Razor my german shepherd was 14 months when he took ill. It was the week before christmas. It started with him being sick and bringing back his drinking water, then the diarrhea started - it was pure blood, also by this point his sick had blood in to so we got straight into the vets the vet gave him an injection to stop the sickness and said if he was still poorly bring him back after the Christmas holidays that was a Wednesday. The vet also told us only to feed Razor on chicken, turkey, rice, pasta, fresh fish and eggs. So we went home and razor did stop being sick, but his stools were getting worse with more and more blood by Christmas day. It was terrible, I was in tears but we gave him turkey and rice to eat. He wasn't keen on the rice and on the Monday after Christmas we phoned the vets, it was closed. So we found an emergency vets that was open, they said he had a case of gastroenteritis and they gave him antibiotics and special tinned dog food . By Thursday Razor was being sick again so we went back to the vets they gave him another injection and another set of anti biotics and told us to keep him on rice, pasta, chicken, fish and eggs and that they wanted to see him the following week. The next week they didn't want to give us more antibiotics so they gave us some powder to mix in with his food. By this time the blood in his stools had stopped but it was still very sloppy. Once again we were told to keep giving him rice etc etc which we did and by the weekend everything was still the same. I made Razor his tea, he had chicken, rice and i mixed some sensitive dog biscuits in to his meal. It was a very well known expensive brand and as soon as he ate it i new something was wrong, he just lay on the floor all night and just slept. The next day we got up there was sick every where. At this point my husband phoned the vet in tears and was told to bring him straight over. We did they said it would be best if they did blood tests and we agreed. They did two tests. They put him back on antibiotics and another sickness injection. It was two weeks till the results came back and his EPI was clear, but he had a vitamin b12 deficiency this meant injections for 6 weeks then everyfortnight for 6 weeks and antibiotics. We were told not to give him dog food but to keep him on rice pasta chicken etc. so we did. 4 weeks of injections and antibiotics and Razor's stools were still the same. I can't exress how me and my husband were feeling at this point. When we fed him, he used to pick the chicken out and try to leave the rice and pasta, we even asked the vet can we not give him chicken alone, she told us this would be a wrong move as he would need other neutrients. Then I saw an ad for nutrix petfood and I emailed and asked if it would be any good for Razor. Maria told me to phone her so I did. I explained everything and Maria sent me a free small bag of some duck and potato for Razor to try. We received it Thursday afternoon and razor had 2 bowls of it that day. Then Friday... I honestly could not beleive it, Razor's stools were almost perfect but by Saturday they were perfect! Today is Tuesday and me and my husband have been dancing in the garden today as today is day 5 with normal stools and I honestly can not thank Maria and Nutrix Petfoods enough. It was obviously Razor's diet that the vet was advising which was making his stools sloppy. We have being going to the vets every week now since last December some weeks twice a week, yet a ten minute conversation with Maria was more help to us than weeks of advice from both of the vets. I can not thank Maria enough ... Thanks Maria x Susan Clinton
Note from Maria at Nutrix Petfoods: We were also able to give vital information to Susan from the world's most experienced on how to treat EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). Susan is now part of an ever growing community that has all the knowledge and experience she needs to help and support her in managing Razor's condition. She's now not alone anymore and Razor is finally putting on weight.

Wallace is a rescue dog being cared for by German Shepherd Rescue Scotland. He came into rescue at 10 months old being diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) at 6 months old. I was asked to be his foster carer, I knew before Wallace arrived that I was going to have to do my research and learn about EPI and fast.
I gave him a week to settle in before changing anything but it was very clear the the food he was eating wasn't the right food. Most EPI dogs need a grain-free food. I searched on the web and found the Nutrix website, their Duck and Potato food sounded perfect so I ordered some up. The results were instant. When changing to a grain-free food EPI dogs can go 'cold turkey', so we went from runny cow-pat poos one day to formed poos the next day. I was delighted, I knew I had the right food for Wallace, now I needed to tweak the other factors and soon I would see him thrive.
Wallace has now been eating the Nutrix Duck and Potato food for a month, he is putting on weight and his coat is beginning to shine. He's such a loving little boy that we have decided to keep him. Wallace now has his forever home with myself and my family.
Thanks to Maria at Nutrix for producing this very important grain-free food. I have recommended it to other owners with EPI dogs, and they too are thriving on it. Cereal and Grain Free Recipe Testimonial
Our German Shepherd x Alaskan Malamute, Nukka began having runny stools at about 6 months old. We were advised to stop feeding her the Royal Canin diet she was on and give her a simple diet change over a two week period of some sensitivity tinned food that was given to us by our vet. We also had to increase her feeding times from 2 to 4 times a day. She was also given medication to stop vomiting and diarrhoea. Unfortunately this didn't improve much. She stopped vomiting but her stools were pretty much the same. I then tried giving her only freshly cooked chicken and rice, which was a real struggle with such a hectic schedule. I kept saying to myself that it would be worth it if it would improve her bowel issues, but it didn't.
She was eventually weaned back on to the Royal canin diet along with chicken and rice for two out of the four meals.
We changed vets after moving house and they put her on a course of antibiotics to clear up any infections that she may have, as well as being on a royal canin, chicken and rice diet. At the time I was pregnant and couldn't work so we were quite short on cash and it was costing a fortune. They were putting her on antibiotics for months at a time and there was no improvement. I saw Nukka getting worse and worse, more diarrhoea and vomiting, losing more weight and losing more hair. Her stools were a mustard colour, almost bright yellow, and they looked like huge cow pats. She wasn't herself either, she would get tired when out on walks, she didn't have any energy and she slept most of the day and night. She was having stools up to 10 times a day, which was crazy. Eventually we could only really walk her once every few days. We were advised by the vets to put her on a cheaper premium brand dry food known as Chappie. This made no difference. She still had yellow cow pats. After a total of 12 months of her being poorly, I put my foot down and insisted that they did some tests on her. I had asked before, but they kept insisting that this was just all too common with German Shepherds and that sensitive stomachs came with the breed. The antibiotics were making her drowsy and she wasn't herself. Eventually they did some blood tests and diagnosed her with EPI just before Nov 2010. I was upset that she was going to have to live with this horrible disease, but I was so relieved that there was still hope. We were told to give Nukka Lypex enzymes every time we fed her (3 times a day) to help her to digest her food. After a week I saw little improvement in her stools, and she didn't look like she'd put on any weight at all. I broke down in tears thinking that the Lypex hadn't worked and faced the thought that we might have to have her put down. I couldn't bear the thought of losing her, but thought it was cruel to make her live in such a way. At this point she was still eating Chappie. The vets told me to change her diet on to the James Wellbeing diet. Being pregnant and unable to work, I was broke. I just couldn't afford this food that had been recommended. I was even dubious about it working. A charity known as Friends of the Animals helped said they could help me out. I couldn't afford to buy all these different brands that were being reccommended. I was very short on cash, so if they didn't work, or even made her worse, I'd be stuck. They gave us some tins of sensitive Science Plan food, and a large bag of Oscars Vegetarian dry food to try, but again, these didn't help. My mom and I spent a good few weeks searching for some different hypoallergenic foods and were hoping to find some information on foods that could support a diet for a dog with EPI. My mom eventually came across the Nutrix Duck and Potato grain free hypoallergenic pet food. It looked great, as Nukka isn't allowed to have alot of fat, carbohydrates, oils or food colourings etc. We read all the information and testimonials and decided to try Nukka on a bag of this food. It arrived in no time at all. We switched Nukka on to the Duck and Potato diet cold turkey, without weaning her on to it. To my amazement she loved the food, and gobbled it down. She was having a large quantity 3 times a day with Lypex, to help her put weight on. Within 2 days she began having brown firm stools. I was so relieved. Nukka loved her food again, and she had so much energy. It was lovely to see Nukka back to her same old self. We took Nukka to get weighed at the vets. To my amazement she had put on weight. I told the vet about the Nutrix food. They said that they had never heard of it, but could I bring in some information for them. I am due to go back in a month to get Nukka weighed again. and I will definitely take the information in for them. If only they had the information about this food, they could of advised me about this sooner, It would have made a huge difference to Nukka's life and we wouldn't have had to deal with all the upset it caused. I tell every dog owner I meet about how much of a life saver this food was to us. We are thrilled with the results. Thank you so much for all your help, Briella, Matthew, Lily and Nukka Testimonial for Nutrix Petfoods
I have an American Bulldog who has lots of allergy related problems over her 3 year life. My friend in America mentioned that she might have food intolerances....which I laughed at... since changing to your food which has only been 5 weeks all of her ear infections have cleared up, all her scratching has stopped, all of her feet itching, cracking and bleeding has stopped. All of her eating grass to be sick has stopped. She has become a healthy energetic dog. Thank you...thank you....thank you Elizabeth Rigby Thank you once again you have changed my dog's life !!!!!!
NOTE from Nutrix: Elizabeth ordered the variety pack which included 4 of our different recipes. All 4 recipes provided the same results. This means that Elizabeth can choose any of our products. Testimonial for Nutrix Puppy Food
I just wanted to echo some of your other positive testimonials and say thanks. We had Maple our 3 year old Labrador bitch on another branded dog food under the recommendation of a breeder. However she always had runny stools and the food was obviously disagreeing. Having read a lot of reports online why wheat and cereal rich dog food is not natural for dogs I discovered your brand and decided to give it a try. First time we fed it to Maple she went wild with excitement and scoffed it down. Amazingly her stools firmed up immediately and she is visibly much healthier. She has just had puppies and I am sure the protein rich diet has helped her through this difficult feeding period when her 9 pups really take it out of her. We have now weaned the puppies onto your puppy food and they are thriving on it. During the early weaning process we tried various other puppy food, soaking it beforehand to make it easy in the early stages. However the other food was often very difficult to mash up as it had a rather unpleasant spongy texture. In contrast your Nutrix food is very easy to soak and mash up for the puppies which tells me that the right ingredients have gone into it. I have no qualms in recommending to others and will tell all our 8 new puppy owners that they should seriously consider Nutrix as the best food. James Pritchard-Barrett Testimonial for Puppy Food
I would like to say how impressed we have been with Nutrix Premium Puppy Food. Our beautiful yellow Labrador, Teddy, is one of Maple's puppies. Teddy was weaned on Nutrix Premium Puppy Food, which was highly recommended to us by James Pritchard-Barrett, Maple's owner. Because Nutrix puppy food contains all the essential nutrients for a growing puppy, we didn't have to provide Teddy with different meals, as with our previous puppies, and he is growing into a strong, healthy dog. The quality of your food means we can easily keep Teddy's weight under control, and he really enjoys his meals. We will definitely continue feeding Teddy with Nutrix pet food, and recommend it to friends and members of our local dog training classes. This is an excellent brand of high quality pet food at an affordable price. Barbara Brown Testimonial for Senior Lite
Since being on Nutrix food we have noticed with our three dogs so far: Flash -7 years old (left on photo) is eating the senior/light mix. He has during the last 4months lost 3 kilograms in weight which helps with his bad back. His coat has improved and he seems to be happier in himself. He loves the food and his pooh's are always solid. It seems to help with his allergies and we have noticed that his chin, and his arm pits are not so sore anymore. Hunney - 8 years old (right on photo) is also eating the senior light mix. She has only been eating it the last 1-2 months and already she has lost 1 kilogram in weight. She loves the food and wolfs it down at meal times compared to James Welbeloved where she was fussy. She seems to have more energy and again happier in herself. Her pooh's are always solid now and she does'nt seem to have a gurgly tummy anymore. Lola - 18 months old (middle in photo) has recently moved on from your puppy food to adult food with no problems. She as always loves meals times and always has lots of energy. We have been really happy with the food that you provide. We will continue to purchase it as we believe out of several brands we have found the best suitable food for all our basset hounds. Ben GOODFELLOW
Testimonial for Nutrix Salmon and Potato Dog food
Here's Neo's story........ We have had him as our foster since the 23 september this year, he came with some tins of food. We have fed our own dogs on a highly respected branded fish and brown rice and wanted to change him over to that, he immediately started having soft stool's. I put him on known well respected dry branded food which is recommended by vets for dogs with sensitive tums and we had the same problem, i tried him on the tinned version after a really bad bout of diarrhoea , even chicken and rice gave him a poorly tummy. One weekend he became SO bad we had to have him admitted into the vets and put on a drip, he came home with another branded sensitive pet food recommended by many vets for him to try, even this gave him diarrhoea. I was desperate to find a food that suited him and stop the puddle's, so I had a look on the internet to see if a hypoallergenic food would help Neo and came across Nutrix dog food by chance. We ordered a bag of the Salmon and Potato version to try him on, we ordered it on the Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm, we were astonished to receive it by 10.00am on the Thursday morning. Within 2 days of him eating this he had SOLID Stools! I cannot tell you how excited and pleased we were , a food that suited him, and he enjoyed eating and at a fantastic price too!!! We have 7 dogs and have put 6 of them on this food, they are all doing wonderfully on it too.
I cannot thank you enough for the service and the fantastic food which has given us a happy contented boy. I would highly recommend Nutrix to anyone, it's fabulous !!!!
Testimonial for Nutrix Lamb & Rice with Vermex and Senior Lite Dog food
Hello Im Christine, I work as a volunteer foster carer for a local rescue centre, to enable ill, old and otherwise very difficult dogs, to be in a home environment and receive the training and care they need to help them to find a permanent home. To date I have fostered and rehomed 14 dogs, its a very hard and tiring but rewarding job. Some of our more severe cases dont make it to a foster carer and either dies on entry to the kennels, or soon after due to gross neglect.
As soon as I bring my new foster dog home, I like to introduce them to a high quality feed as many of them are suffering from neglect and poor health. As well as following veterinarian advice where necessary, I also talk to my dog food nutritionist for advice on which is the best food possible for my new dog. To support me in my foster work I am studying for a qualification in Dog Psychology and behaviour. I have found that the food my dogs eat also plays an extremely important role in their behaviour - many behaviour problems can be alleviated by adopting the correct diet. My latest foster dog Jak is an example of this. He is a young border collie, very mischievous; with so much energy I think he could climb Everest. He was a very nervous and frightened dog when he came to me 5 months ago, very thin and in poor health generally. He is now very settled, happy and thriving on Nutrix lamb and rice with Vermex.
I also have an elderly dog Toby, who was my first foster dog; I loved him so much I adopted him permanently. He has a major food allergy. He is sick if he eats any poor quality dog food, and he also has a reaction in his feet, in that his pads split open and become infected. I have found that his condition has been greatly improved since I have been feeding him on the products from Nutrix. My third dog is an elderly border collie that had started to suffer from a little stiffness in his hind quarters after a hard day of hiking. He has thrived on Nutrix and is now jumping fences and climbing mountains like a 3 year old! All three of my dogs have benefited from a product from Nutrix and each now have lovely glossy coats and are full of energy and spirit.
So thanks to the team at Nutrix! I have a happy pack at home who love their lives and especially their food. THANKS NUTRIX! Testimonial for Nutrix Chicken & Rice Dog food
We have had Buster since October last year following the death of our 11 year old Old English Sheepdog. We were lost without our old boy and were fortunate to be able to take Buster-boy as a rescue dog. He came to us with 'behavioural issues', had been put on a special diet and he was very lean. We were also told that he didn't open his bowels very often and he was a very nervous dog on arrival. We knew the nature of these lively, loyal and very loving dogs and started to introduce him to a well know dried brand of dog food, with daily walks and ball-games!. He was becoming more like a normal, bouncy Old English, but still had loose, erratic motions. After reading the label of that particular brand of dog food, I thought that there were far too many additives and colourings (especially as he was prone to a touch of hyperactivity) so searched the internet for good quality hypoallergenic dog food. Then I discovered Nutrix - what a find! Half the price of a leading hypoallergenic dog food - swift, efficient delivery and very courteous customer service. Glad to say, also, all systems working as they should! Thank you, Nutrix - we now have a bouncy, healthy, happy Old English Sheepdog (quite bouncy, to say the least!) who is a beauty as you can see! Hi Maria I am sending some pictures so you can see how good my dogs now look on your food. Since my dog Zola was a pup we have had trouble with her food as she has a sensitive stomach, the vets recommended different types of food but they were very expensive. So I did some research and came across Nutrix Petfoods and decided to try as it had all the goodneess in at half the price! Plus it was also suitable for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Well, all I can say is we tried it and Zola likes it and my other dog Freddy is now on it and when we take them to the vets we are always told what good condition they are now in. I do recommend anyone to try it. Best wishes and thank you Bob & Lynne Whitehouse

'I have 2 rescue dogs, both collie cross, Mutley aged 20 and Gemma aged 9. I have found it hard to find a food that they both like, can eat easily (Mutley doesn't have a full set of teeth any more) and that also doesn't upset their stomachs. So far, they absolutely love your Senior Light food...can't get enough. The small bites mean they can munch it easily and no upset tummy.Thank you very much, Sarah :)
