A Note about our Fresh Salmon and Fish used in this Hypoallergenic Salmon Cat Food Recipe
The fresh salmon used in this recipe (min 26%) is sourced from the Scottish Highlands. This salmon is fully traceable and derived entirely from fish good enough for human consumption which is also acceptable to the stringent control measures as imposed by the UK supermarket chains. Salmon oil is included in this hypoallergenic recipe to give energy and to aid the transport of the fat-soluble vitamins. This salmon oil contains omega-3 fatty acids which may prevent or reduce the chance of developing heart disease and it can also help to reduce high blood pressure. Omega-3 oils are also especially known for their benefits in helping kidney disorders, inflammatory bowel syndrome and autoimmune disease because of its natural anti-inflammatory properties.
The fish meal included in this hypoallergenic recipe is composed mainly from mackerel and herring. It contains 6-10% fish oil (see benefits above). Like chicken, fish protein has a high bioligical value and it is easily broken down.
